Life Lately #15

Life Lately #15

I don’t want to start out this post by yelling, BUT HOW THE HELL IS IT LESS THAN THREE WEEKS UNTIL CHRISTMAS ALREADY!? WHERE HAS ALL THE TIME GONE!? Christmas just always feels like one of those things that sneaks up on me: one minute it seems to be ages away, and then suddenly it’s a matter of weeks and you find yourself wondering, ‘what the hell happened to November!’ To be fair, my November has definitely been a busy one thanks to NaNoWriMo and loads of birthdays in my family, including my little niece’s first birthday! My sister threw… Read more »

NaNoWriMo 2017: Week 3

NaNoWriMo 2017: Week 3

So, it’s Week 3 of NaNoWriMo, and it’s starting to get pretty tough now! I’m still enjoying writing my story, but I’ve come to a tough bit where lots of new characters are being introduced, so I’m finding it more difficult to get into it. That, of course, means I’m less motivated to write, and it’s becoming more of a struggle. Hopefully, once I’ve got passed this difficult part I’ll get my motivation back, but in the mean time I’m pushing on regardless, and am just about keeping my head above water. I haven’t yet slipped behind, although I’ve been only… Read more »

NaNoWriMo 2017: Week 2

NaNoWriMo 2017: Week 2

Week 2 of NaNoWriMo 2017 is over, and I’m glad to say I’m still ahead, even if I am starting to lose my lead a little bit. As of last night, I’d written 23,838 words, surpassing the Day 14 target of 23,333 words by 505 words. I am starting to feel my motivation slipping somewhat, and whilst I breezed through the first week, there has been a couple of days this week where I’ve really not felt like writing. Thankfully I’ve managed to force myself to at least write something every day, even if it was only a few hundred… Read more »

NaNoWriMo 2017: Week 1

NaNoWriMo 2017: Week 1

The first week of NaNoWriMo 2017 has passed in a blur, and I’m glad to say, I’ve remained consistently ahead all week. There’s plenty of time for that to change, but I’ve been trying to get ahead in this first week before it starts to become too much of a drag! Oddly, I actually started NaNoWriMo 2017 in McDonald’s: I’d been heading back from my boyfriend’s in the morning and had got caught up in loads of traffic, and so stopped at McDonald’s for some stress-relieving breakfast before I continued my journey. I was feeling pretty pumped about the start of NaNoWriMo, so… Read more »

Life Lately #13

Life Lately #13

These days I genuinely seem to be struggling to think of things to write about in these updates, which is probably a sign I need to get out more… I say it every month, that hopefully next month I’ll get out and do more things, and then life happens and I find myself day after day getting home from work exhausted and wanting nothing more than to slump on the sofa. My weird hours at work are definitely starting to catch up to me (I have to get up at 5 am for work a few times a week, and… Read more »

Life Lately #10

So the month of June has been fairly uneventful for me. For the most part the weather here has been nice, although this last week its been very changeable. As in, you can go outside in the sunshine in the morning, and be returning drenched and shivering from the rain in your shorts and vest top in the afternoon. Not cool English weather, not cool! One outing I’ve been on this month was to Bury Market with my parents, which I really enjoyed. I always really like looking around markets, and Bury Market is a pretty famous one in the… Read more »

Life Lately #9

I hope everyone has had a good May! I really don’t know why I’m so late with my end of month update, seen as it isn’t like I don’t have anything to write about… But oh well! I think my biggest announcement this month is that I’ve finally finished the novel I’ve been writing! It’s only taken a year, one NaNoWriMo and one Camp NaNoWriMo but I’ve finally done it, and I couldn’t be more thrilled! This is the first full length manuscript I’ve ever finished in the years I’ve been writing, so I think this will really boost my confidence, seen… Read more »
