It’s my 3rd Blogoversary!

It's my 3rd Blogoversary!

Three years ago today I set up this blog and pressed publish on my ever first post. My theme was awful, my photography was awful and my post was even more awful – it was literally just a book quote – but it didn’t matter. I had discovered blogging and I loved it!

Three years later and I still love it, which given my track record for starting and then quitting things is actually pretty insane! In fact, if someone had told me back then in 2014, as I clumsily designed my first blog header that I would still be here three years later, I would probably have laughed in their face. Yet here I am, and I’m so happy to still be here and still be inspired to post!

As always, thanks to you all for sticking with me, and continuing to read and comment on my posts. It truly does mean so much! Of all the things I love about blogging, my favourite thing has to be all the wonderful people I’ve met through it, and getting to be a part of the bookish/blogging community is amazing. So thanks for having me!

Hopefully Boats Against The Current is going to have many more blogoversaries to come, and I truly believe that it will – I really can’t imagine not having this little corner of the internet anymore. In fact I’m feeling super inspired at the moment, and have lots of posts lined up, so look out for those! In my fit of inspiration I’ve also given Boats Against The Current a little blog makeover, as you may have noticed, and I’m pretty pleased with the results. Let me know what you think of the new look!

Anyway, here’s to three years of blogging, and all the ones to come! Let me know in the comments how long you’ve been blogging, and what you love most about it!

HAPPY BLOGOVERSARY!!! The makeover is fantastic; so bright and colourful! And that header is super gorgeous too! <3 I love blogging as well, but I'm a bit of a newbie compared to you (over 1 year now). I adore your posts and blog, so here's to many more wonderful years to come! 😀

Aww, thank you so much! And I’m so glad you like the makeover! 🙂
And yay for 1+ years of blogging! That’s still a really long time to have stuck with it, and I’m sure you will have many more years of blogging to come! 🙂

Happy blogoversary! 🙂 Your new theme and picture are so cute, well done! My 3rd one will be in April. I’m surprised I’ve stuck with it, considering all the blogs I had opened and closed down in the past. 😛

      Thank you! 🙂
And yay for your upcoming 3rd blogoversary! I’m glad you stuck with yours too 🙂

HAPPY BLOGOVERSARY ! ^^ I’m always amazed to see bloggers who still love blogging after years of doing it. The new look is very cute, I love it !

Congratulations!! So happy for you! Three years is a fabulous accomplishment! I adore the makeover by the way 😀 I have been blogging for… let’s see, close to 4 years, which is nuts. My favorite part (by FAR) is the awesome people I have met! Hope you have many more wonderful years to come!

      Aww, thanks! 🙂
And yay for almost 4 years! I hope you have many more wonderful years of blogging to come too! 🙂

It totally does! I hadn’t really thought of that when I did it, but I’m just really liking green at the moment apparently! 🙂

  5. Becky @ A Fool's Ingenuity

Congratulations on your third year of blogging! I get the cringing at your first post, we all do it but it’s always amazing seeing how far you’ve come. I never thought I’d last long blogging either, I am not known for my ability to persevere at things and I hoped I’d keep blogging but wasn;t certain I would. I really don’t know what I’d do with my freetime if I didn’t blog now, it’s strange how it’s become a central part of my life.

    • Laura

      Thank you! 🙂
I really don’t know what I’d do with all my spare time either without blogging! It really has become a huge part of my life, and I actually can’t imagine not blogging now 🙂

Happy blogiversary! Three years is impressive and I’m so glad you are still living it and still inspired.

I love the new design on mobile (haven’t seen the full site yet) and I look forward to seeing whatever posts you’ve lined up.

  7. Danya @ Fine Print

Hooray, happy blogoversary Laura! My first post was horribly cringe-worthy too (a poorly written review of Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout…sigh), but I stuck with it. I’ve been blogging for almost 4 years and I love it even more now than when I first started! 🙂

    • Laura

      Thank you! 🙂
Wow, 4 years is amazing! Congratulations! I’m so glad you still enjoy it so much 🙂

  8. Pamela

MUCH CONGRATULATIONS! I love the pink and green! The best part of having blogoversaries is realizing how far we’ve come. Your blog is amazing so BE VERY PROUD.

Our blogs are buddies so mine’s 3 years is coming up as well. And there are so many things I love about blogging. I would usually say what I love most is the friends, and that’s still there, but I also love the fact that I have something that is mine and that has grown (or not) because of the effort I’ve put into it, and I like having something like that.

  9. Jenna @ Falling Letters

Super late to the party, but congratulations on three years! I have been book blogging for just a little longer (I started in April 2014, though I’ve had a blog in one form or other since 2006). My favourite thing about book blogging is having an outlet to air my bookish thoughts, and see what people think on the same topics. Here’s to many more bookish posts~

    • Laura

      Thank you! 🙂
Wow, you’ve been blogging for such a long time! I’m always so behind people in terms of technology, so I probably hadn’t even heard of blogging back in 2006. I’m one of those people who was still on MySpace ages after everyone had moved onto Facebook! 🙂
And I love having somewhere to air my bookish thoughts too. I don’t know too many bookish people in real life, so it’s nice to be able to talk books with people online, and meet so many bookworms! 🙂
