Life Lately #31

We’re already partway through April, and as per usual, I’m wondering where the time has gone. I feel like March flew by, and I didn’t really do a whole lot other than work! I did meet up with my friend a couple of weeks back though, and it was so nice to see her, as I hadn’t seen her since before Christmas. We’ve always been really close – we used to live together! – but since we live quite far apart now we don’t see each other all that often, so it was nice to have a catch up (and… Read more »

Happy January everyone! That’s presuming everyone is happy about it being January…I always find it a bit of a weird time of year personally, with Christmas all over and done with, and the cold weather really setting in. As I’ve said in a couple of posts, this past month has been pretty action packed for me. I started my new job midway through December, and moved into my boyfriend’s. Moving in with my boyfriend has of course been amazing – we’ve been waiting to be able to do this for a couple of years now (my previous job was too… Read more »

How is it November already? I mean, next month it’s going to be Christmas, and then it’s going to be 2019…seriously, where does all the time go?! October seemed to fly by, not that I actually did very much. I even had a week off work, but I mostly spent that relaxing with my boyfriend. We did go to the Trafford Centre one day, and I went shopping with my sister which was nice, but otherwise the week was a quiet one. I think I needed that though…I’ve been so tired lately, what with all my early starts for work… Read more »

Life Lately #25

This month has been a month of catching up with people! Seen as my boyfriend has been working the past few Saturdays, I’ve spent them seeing friends I haven’t seen in a while, and hanging out with my sister. One of my catch-ups was at the start of the month, where I met up with a friend at a really nice little cafe. I got some amazing macaroni cheese there, with some of the best garlic bread I’ve ever had (it was basically just crusty bread buttered with garlic butter!), which is pretty crazy giving how much garlic bread I eat!… Read more »

August is over, and September is here, and on the whole its been a fairly boring month for me. After the excitement of having time off work back in July, August has pretty much just been work, work and more work unfortunately. It’s genuinely been one of those months where I’m having to rack my brains for anything to report, but thankfully I have one interesting anecdote: My mum, my sister and I took my two nieces and my nephew to Blackpool Zoo on Tuesday, and we had a lovely day! Thankfully all the animals seemed to be out, and we… Read more »

Why We All Need Lazy Days

Why We All Need Lazy Days

Recently I had a couple of weeks off work, and whilst I went on some wonderful day trips, I also spent a few days just lounging about, reading books and watching TV. And you know what? I really needed that! Whilst calling it a ‘lazy day’ makes it sound unproductive, I actually think that those days are essential to our wellbeing, so technically they’re super productive in terms of taking care of ourselves! So here’s why we all need those lazy days: To rest and wind down. In our modern society where everyone is sleep deprived, overworked and living in a… Read more »

6 Easy Crafts To Try

6 Easy Crafts To Try

I’ve always adored arts and crafts and making things, and have done ever since I was a kid…the only problem is that I’m not naturally very good at it. Despite my best efforts, I don’t have that natural talent for arty things that a lot of people have (and I’m super jealous of people who do!), and so I often fall to fairly ‘easy’ crafts so that I get the satisfaction of having made something cool, without the frustration. Things like crocheting and knitting, for example, are things I’ve tried but that require altogether too much patience (and hand coordination!)… Read more »

How To Deal With Feeling Unmotivated

How To Deal With Feeling Unmotivated

We all have those days we had big plans for – we were going to write a blog post and a chapter of our novel, and clean the car – that we ended up spending in our pyjamas, binge-watching shows on Netflix. I mean, sometimes we have whole months like that because motivation can be a fickle thing. Sometimes you’re feeling it, and sometimes you’re just not. So what do you do when you feel unmotivated but have tonnes of stuff you need, or really want to do? Well, here’s a few tips for dealing with lack of motivation (something I’ve been… Read more »

So April is over, and May is here, and with it has finally come the nice weather. This past weekend in particular has been beautiful, so it was a shame I was mostly stuck in work! On the whole, April has been a nice, productive month for me…but I’ve discussed the reasons why already in previous posts. To recap: I went on holiday with my boyfriend around the middle of the month to the Lake District, and had a really lovely time (and you can read all about it here). I also took part in Camp NaNoWriMo (and was successful!… Read more »

A Trip To The Lake District

A Trip To The Lake District

Last week I had the week off work for my birthday, and me and my boyfriend spent a few days in the Lake District. We had a lovely time, and the Lakes were as beautiful as ever, so I thought I’d do a quick post all about it, and share a few photographs I took (on my phone, rather than my DSLR, but oh well!). Thankfully Spring finally seems to have sprung here in England, and so for the most part the weather was lovely, except on our first full day there…but I’ll get to that! Seen as we couldn’t… Read more »
