Rereading Harry Potter: ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows’

Warning: Spoilers for the Harry Potter series. This past week, I finally finished my Harry Potter reread, and what an emotional rollercoaster its been! I hadn’t reread this series in years, but I’m glad to say it’s just as amazing as I remembered, and just as poignant at the end… I literally can’t imagine ever not enjoying returning to the world of Harry Potter, no matter how many times I’ve read it. If you haven’t already read my previous ‘Rereading Harry Potter’ posts, you can catch up here: Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets Harry Potter and the Prisoner of… Read more »

Rereading Harry Potter: ‘Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets’

Warning: Spoilers for the ‘Harry Potter’ series. This is the second post in my ‘Reading Harry Potter’ series, and this time we’re talking about Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets! Check out my post on Philosopher’s Stone here if you missed it! My Thoughts Whilst Rereading Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets Dursley update… …they’re still hilariously awful! Their rehearsal of the dinner party where Vernon is hoping to make a big sale of drills is pretty funny (as well as insanely cringey!), some of the finer moments including Dudley planning to tell the unfortunate Mr Mason ‘We had to write an… Read more »

Rereading Harry Potter: ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone’

Rereading Harry Potter: ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone’

Warning: Spoilers for the ‘Harry Potter’ series. So the other day I did a post about how I was going to reread the Harry Potter series for the first time in years. In that post I promised updates after reading each book, so here is the first of many! My Thoughts Whilst Rereading Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone I had completely forgotten the bit before Dumbledore and co. arrive on Privet Drive! I don’t know why, but I always remembered the book as starting with McGonagall sitting in cat form on Privet Drive when Dumbledore arrives and starts putting out the lights. I completely… Read more »

My Thoughts Before Rereading Harry Potter

My Thoughts Before Rereading Harry Potter

As a child, I was a big rereader. In fact, a good 50% of my reading was rereading old favourites, and chief among them was the Harry Potter series. Between waiting for the latest book to release I would reread the old ones, never wanting to be out of the Wizarding World for too long. However, I was thinking recently about how I hadn’t reread anything in years, and I couldn’t even remember the last time I read a Harry Potter book. As I got older the amount of rereading I did began to decrease as I discovered new books and found myself with an… Read more »

My Funko Pop Wish List

My Funko Pop Wish List

So in the last few years, Funko Pop figures have become absolutely massive, and you now see them everywhere. At first I couldn’t see what all the fuss was about, but gradually they’ve started to grow on me, with their massive heads and weird beady eyes! Plus the range of characters you can get now is insane, and so inevitably there’s been quite a few I’ve seen that I wouldn’t mind owning. I don’t currently have any, despite having had my eye on some of these for quite a while, but I decided that this month when I get paid, I might… Read more »

Life Crisis: When You Don’t Know Which Hogwarts House You’d Be In

Life Crisis: When You Don’t Know Which Hogwarts House You’d Be In

Is it me, or has there been an influx of great Harry Potter merchandise around recently? Every time I venture into Primark there’s something new from t-shirts and sweatshirts, to duvet covers, mugs, cushions and socks, and Waterstones is currently full of great gift items ranging from bags and pin badges to full sets of Quidditch balls (seriously…they’re awesome!). Put simply, it has my greedy little bookworm-eyes lighting up, and I’m literally itching to get my hands on most of it! There’s just one problem I have with buying Harry Potter merch, and it’s been haunting me for months, ever since… Read more »
