Should your Goodreads target challenge you?

Should your Goodreads target challenge you?

So, it’s that time of year again when everyone is setting their goals and resolutions for the New Year. And whilst most people want to lose weight, or eat healthier, or quit smoking, us bookworms just want to read lots of books in the coming year! And not only that, but we want to formalise that goal by publicly setting ourselves a target on Goodreads! But how exactly do you go about setting that target? In a post I wrote a couple of weeks ago about being a slow reader in the blogosphere, I touched on this issue, and about… Read more »

Being A Slow Reader in the Book Blogging Community

Being A Slow Reader in the Book Blogging Community

Until last year, I had never taken part in the Goodreads Challenge, and therefore had absolutely no idea how many books I read in a year. I was completely oblivious, bumbling my way through book after book, and never counting how many I was actually finishing in a week, a month, a year… However, last year I finally decided to take part in the Goodreads Challenge, and I actually really enjoyed it! Nothing groundbreaking happened, but nothing too terrible either. And as for reading: well 2017 has been a fantastic year! This has been the first year… Read more »

The Pros and Cons of the Goodreads Challenge

The Pros and Cons of the Goodreads Challenge

The Goodreads Challenge is something I’ve been aware of for a long time: after all, almost every book blogger I know of seems to do it. However, its only been this year that I’ve started taking part, and I really have no idea why it’s taken me this long. I think the thing that finally made me decide to take part in 2017 was realising at the end of last year that I literally had no idea how many books I had read. Sure, I could take a look back at my book reviews, but I don’t always review everything I read,… Read more »
