My Thought Process When Deciding What To Read Next

My Thought Process When Deciding What To Read Next

Reading may be fun, but deciding what book to read next is absolute torture. It is if you’re anything like me anyway! So if you want a look inside the mind of a crazy bookworm, here’s my thought process when deciding what to read next: 1. Panic and feel completely overwhelmed.  The first stage of deciding what to read next is to feel completely overwhelmed by the life-altering decision before me…OK, so it isn’t that bad, but you’d think it was, what with the amount of dithering I do! I’m just very aware when I put down one book that… Read more »

‘I’d love to read, if I had the time.’

‘I’d love to read, if I had the time.’

I’ve often found when talking to non-bookworms about my love of reading, they’ll come out with the statement ‘I’d love to read too, but I just don’t have time’, or something similar. And perhaps I’m being too sensitive, but I actually find this statement kind of insulting, and I’d love to know what other readers feel. The Pros and Cons of the Goodreads Challenge

The Pros and Cons of the Goodreads Challenge

The Goodreads Challenge is something I’ve been aware of for a long time: after all, almost every book blogger I know of seems to do it. However, its only been this year that I’ve started taking part, and I really have no idea why it’s taken me this long. Are readers born or made?

Are readers born or made?

Back in college I studied Psychology as one of my A Levels, and one of the aspects I found most interesting was the idea of nature vs. nurture. I think it’s fascinating to think about whether the aspects of your personality are inset within you at birth, or whether you acquire them as a result of your upbringing and life experiences, and I’ve always personally felt it’s a combination of the two. For example, I’m one of three children in my family (I have an older brother and a younger sister…and I like to think I don’t suffer from that whole ‘middle child… Read more »

What’s in a bookworm’s bag?

What’s in a bookworm’s bag?

I always see these ‘what’s in my bag’ posts on fashion and lifestyle blogs, so I thought it would be kind of cool to do a bookworm edition. Prepare for a long post though, because my bag of choice is generally a large tote bag, and I like to carry an epic amount of crap around with me! For ages I was switching between these two Penguin classics totes: But last week I bought this cool ‘Bad Luck’ print one from Redbubble so I’ve just switched to that. I was actually really impressed with the quality of this bag when it… Read more »
