Blogtober 2019 Wrap-Up

Blogtober 2019 Wrap-Up

So today it’s the last day of October (Happy Halloween!), and the end of Blogtober 2019! As I spoke about yesterday, I’m surprised I managed to successfully post every day in October, but somehow I did! This was my first ever Blogtober, so I’m glad it was a success, and I had so much fun writing all of my posts (even if it was a little stressful at times). Anyway, I thought I’d wrap things up with a full list of all the posts I published this October, in case you missed anything! Thanks so much to everyone who has… Read more »

5 Things I’ve Learnt From Blogging Every Day in October

5 Things I’ve Learnt From Blogging Every Day in October

As you may know, I’ve been taking part in Blogtober this month, and so have posted a blog post here every day in October. Tomorrow is the final day, and I already have my final post ready, so I think it’s safe to say I’ve been successful! Back at the beginning, I wasn’t entirely sure that I would manage it… I was going into this challenge off the back of a terrible blogging slump, and so the idea of having to post every day for a month was overwhelming. But I wanted to take part anyway, and just see how… Read more »

The Best Things About Book Blogging

The Best Things About Book Blogging

I’ve now been book blogging for over five years, and I can honestly say it’s one of the best things I’ve ever done. As someone who is famous for taking up new hobbies and then quitting them weeks later, it just goes to show how much I’ve got out of book blogging, that I’m still at it! So I thought it was about time I did a little ‘book blogging appreciation post’, and shared the things I consider to be the best about book blogging. So if you’re on the fence about starting your own blog, read on and get… Read more »

Mid Blogtober Update

Mid Blogtober Update

We’re now halfway through Blogtober 2019, so I thought I’d do a mid-month check-in post on how it’s going (yes, this post is probably cheating!). To my surprise, I’ve managed to post every day so far! And that includes the five days I was away in Scarborough, staying in a caravan without Wi-fi (thankfully I had a good phone signal!). It was a massive pain writing blog posts on my phone though… from predictive text constantly changing perfectly ordinary words to random ones, and accidentally deleting half my post when I shut down an internet window, it was far from… Read more »

Blogtober 2019

Blogtober 2019

Last month I posted a blog post all about the terrible blogging slump I’ve been going through recently, and how I hoped to crawl my way out of it…and then I promptly continued to hardly post anything on my blog, because I’m just the worst! So I’ve decided it’s time for drastic measures: a blogging challenge! NaNoWriMo has always given me a massive productivity boost in terms of my fiction writing, so I thought taking part in Blogtober would be like the blogging equivalent. For anyone who doesn’t know, Blogtober takes place in October, and is a challenge in which… Read more »

Blogging Slumps Suck

Blogging Slumps Suck

So, for the past few months I’ve been stuck in a seemingly never-ending blogging slump, and it seriously sucks. It all started back in December when I went through a lot of major life changes – moving to a new city, starting a new job etc. – and I found I just had less time and mental energy for blogging. At the time, that was totally understandable, but it’s now eight months later, and I feel like I never really got my blogging mojo back. I tend to have the odd period of productivity, and then it all goes downhill… Read more »

Life Lately #30

Life Lately #30

As if we’re into March already! Seriously, what is going on with time? I actually had a fairly good February, kicking off with a nice week off work. I thankfully got loads of chilling and reading time in, but also had a nice little overnight stay in York with my boyfriend, which was lovely! We just had a wander around the town, doing some sightseeing and shopping. In the old part of the city (called the Shambles), there was actually two Harry Potter themed shops which were a favourite of ours, and we definitely intend to go back there when… Read more »

Life Lately #27

My mental state coming into December 2018 looks kind of like this: AHHHHHHHHH!!!!! You may think this is because of all the usual holiday season things like shopping etc., but oh no! I have a ridiculous amount going on over December including moving house, leaving my job of 8 years and starting a new one… So yeah, it’s going to be a crazy month! I’m pretty excited about my new job, because it means I’m finally going to be in commutable distance of my boyfriend’s place, which means we’re finally moving in together! Hooray! This feels like a really exciting… Read more »

Life Lately #26

Life Lately #26

How is it November already? I mean, next month it’s going to be Christmas, and then it’s going to be 2019…seriously, where does all the time go?! October seemed to fly by, not that I actually did very much. I even had a week off work, but I mostly spent that relaxing with my boyfriend. We did go to the Trafford Centre one day, and I went shopping with my sister which was nice, but otherwise the week was a quiet one. I think I needed that though…I’ve been so tired lately, what with all my early starts for work… Read more »

Life Lately #24

Life Lately #24

August is over, and September is here, and on the whole its been a fairly boring month for me. After the excitement of having time off work back in July, August has pretty much just been work, work and more work unfortunately. It’s genuinely been one of those months where I’m having to rack my brains for anything to report, but thankfully I have one interesting anecdote: My mum, my sister and I took my two nieces and my nephew to Blackpool Zoo on Tuesday, and we had a lovely day! Thankfully all the animals seemed to be out, and we… Read more »
