Well, week 2 of NaNoWriMo 2016 is over, and we are now halfway through! Hooray!
To my great surprise, I’m still just about on track: as of last night I had written 23,401 words, meaning I was just surpassing the Day 14 target of 23,338. Overall my novel is now 48,740 words, which makes it the longest thing I’ve ever written (my second longest being my last NaNoWriMo attempt which was 42,000 words)!
It feels like it’s really starting to get tough though! I’ve written over 1,000 words every single day of November (balancing out the days I wrote less than 1667 with the days I wrote more), which I’m pleased about, but during the first week it seemed relatively easy. Now it seems like such a struggle!
I’ve done well so far though, so I’m going to try and keep up with it and not let myself slip behind. I feel like this coming week is going to be the tough one as I have a lot on: my sister’s baby is due this week which is pretty exciting, and I’m off work for a few days, so will hopefully be spending lots of time with my lovely boyfriend! I’ll hopefully manage to get some writing time in somewhere, and I hope that this time next week I’ll be reporting that I’m still on track!
I hope all my fellow NaNoWriMo-ers have had a good week, and best of luck with week 3! Let me know how you’re getting on in the comments!
