Life Lately #41

Life Lately #41

January seems to have dragged on, as Januaries often do, but on the whole I’ve had a decent month. Work has been relatively quiet and unstressful compared to the Christmas rush, and I’ve been enjoying taking it easier! It also helps that I’ve been off work for two weeks thanks to some annual leave I had to use up (I’m back in tomorrow unfortunately though). I haven’t really done much with my time off to be honest, other than staying at home and chilling in my pyjamas, but I feel like I really needed the break. Plus I got in… Read more »

Life Lately #40

January is here, and the festive season is all over and done with. Maybe it’s just me, but does anyone else find it all quite anticlimactic? I mean there’s such a huge build-up to Christmas and New Year, and then you get to January and just feel like…well, that’s over. And before you know it, everything is back to normal, and it feels like nothing ever happened. Don’t get me wrong, I had a really lovely Christmas. As per tradition, my boyfriend and I got up and opened presents, and then headed down to my parents’ house for a delicious… Read more »

My 2020 Goals

My 2020 Goals

Happy New Year everyone! Yesterday was the start of a New Year and a new decade, which means it’s time for some goal setting! I’m honestly trying not to go too mad this year, as I’m terrible for excitedly setting all the goals in January and then realising that one person can’t actually keep up with all that for a whole year (and definitely not me…I get super lazy!). So I’ve just chosen a few key things that are important to me, like my writing and blogging, and I want to try and make some kind of progress in those… Read more »

What’s your Christmas routine?

What’s your Christmas routine?

Christmas is nearly here (only three more sleeps!)! Hooray! I simultaneously both love and hate Christmas, as I imagine a lot of people do. I love it because the day itself is always nice and relaxed, and you get to spend time with your family, but the lead up to it can be super stressful what with all the Christmas shopping and preparation to do (and as a postwoman, my work gets much busier over Christmas, what with all the Christmas cards and parcels!). Not to mention you always get that slump afterwards where you’re kind of like…so that’s over…. Read more »

Life Lately #39

November seems to have just passed in a blur! It’s been such a busy month, yet super unproductive at the same time. Most of the month has been taken up with work, as I’ve been doing a fair bit of overtime in the run up to Christmas (I’m a postwoman, so as you can imagine, Christmas gets hectic, what with all those Christmas cards and parcels to deliver!). It’s all good, because I really do need the extra money so I can finally get my Christmas shopping underway (yes, it’s the 8th December and I have bought one thing so… Read more »

Pokemon Shield: First Impressions

Pokemon Shield: First Impressions

So yesterday was release day for the new Pokemon games, Sword and Shield! Hooray! I’ve been pretty excited for this for a while, as I’ve loved what I’ve seen in the trailers, and it’s pretty exciting to get a proper Pokemon game for the Nintendo Switch (not that Let’s Go Pikachu wasn’t fun!). I started playing it last night, and so far I’ve really been enjoying it, so I thought I’d do a little ‘first impressions’ post. I’m still quite early into the game (I think I’m basically as far as the first gym battle), so maybe I’ll do a… Read more »

Life Lately #38

November is here, and I am absolutely baffled by how close it is to Christmas already. I always intend to start my Christmas shopping in October, but so far it hasn’t happened, so I’m hoping I can get it all done this month. I really, really don’t want to end up battling my way through busy shops in December, but that’s what always ends up happening! October was quite a busy month though, even without doing any Christmas shopping. It started out with a week off work, which I feel like I really needed. As I spoke about in this… Read more »

Why Setting Goals Works For Me

Why Setting Goals Works For Me

At this time of year, one thing that’s on my mind a lot is goals. For one thing, the end of the year is edging ever closer, so it’s only natural to look back at the past year and think about all the things I have and haven’t achieved. But also, this is the time of year when I’m heading into NaNoWriMo, and right now I’m also winding up Blogtober 2019, which has me thinking about goals, and why I set them. Because the thing is with me, I’m actually super lazy. Or maybe lazy is the wrong word? I… Read more »

A Trip To Scarborough

A Trip To Scarborough

So last week my boyfriend and I went away for a few days to the North East Coast of England, and we had a great time! This was actually a fairly nostalgic trip for me, as Scarborough is somewhere my family holidayed when I was a kid, and so it was lovely to see it again. Plus my boyfriend had never been, so it was nice to explore the place all over again with him! Thankfully the weather stayed nice for most of the week, as an English seaside holiday can go either way really! We stayed on a Haven… Read more »

Life Lately #37

Life Lately #37

This month had just been a regular, boring old month full of work until a few days ago, when it took a pretty sad turn. My dog of 15 years, Mollie, sadly had to be put down, so its obviously been a sad time for my family. She’d been having problems for the last year or so, mostly with dementia, and it was sad that she didn’t really seem to recognise her own name, and she was constantly falling over and getting herself stuck places. She could no longer walk far, had grown really skinny, and had all sorts of… Read more »
