Last month I posted a blog post all about the terrible blogging slump I’ve been going through recently, and how I hoped to crawl my way out of it…and then I promptly continued to hardly post anything on my blog, because I’m just the worst!
So I’ve decided it’s time for drastic measures: a blogging challenge! NaNoWriMo has always given me a massive productivity boost in terms of my fiction writing, so I thought taking part in Blogtober would be like the blogging equivalent.
For anyone who doesn’t know, Blogtober takes place in October, and is a challenge in which bloggers attempt to post new content on their blogs every day for the entire month. Some people like to go for an autumnal theme with their Blogtober posts, but I’m just going to be posting whatever comes to mind!
This is the first time I’ve ever taken part in Blogtober, and to be honest, I’m already reasonably sure I’m not going to ‘win’ it. Recently I’ve been struggling to post once a week, so posting every single day seems like an impossible challenge right now. Especially since I only decided to do this on 29th September, so have done barely any prep at all. Not to mention the fact that I’m actually going to be away in Yorkshire with no WiFi for five days during the month…
But I still feel like it’ll be worth doing, even if it just gets me posting more frequently again. I’ve had a pretty productive brainstorming session to come up with lots of post ideas, and I’m feeling excited about it, so Blogtober is already working its magic.
Wish me luck, and look out for all my October posts!
So is anyone else taking part in Blogtober this year? Have you done it before, and how did it go? What’s your normal posting schedule?
