A while ago I wrote a post called 15 Book Blog Post Ideas, and it turned out to be one of my most popular posts ever. Lots of people said they found it useful, so I thought it was about time I went through my little notebook of blog post ideas and came up with a second edition!
So here’s another 15 book blog post ideas:
- Who would you have at your author tea party?
Are there any authors you’d just love to sit down and have a cup of tea with? Who would you choose and why?
- Do you prefer long chapters or short chapters?
This is something I’ve been thinking about recently because the book I’m writing has turned out to have very long chapters, and I’m not sure if that’s a good idea or not? I intend to post about this soon myself!
- What hobbies do you have other than reading?
Reading is the best hobby of all in my opinion (scrap that, it’s not a hobby…reading is life!), but that doesn’t mean you don’t have other interests. Why not let your readers get to know you a little more and talk about some of your other hobbies on your blog?
- Tell us the secrets to your blog/bookstagram photography.
I made several suggestions in this post about props or backgrounds you could use, so why not do something similar?
- Do a round-up of your favourite book blogs.
I’ve been meaning to do this one myself for a while, seen as it’s nice to share the love a little, and there are so many great blogs out there I’d like to give a shoutout to!
- What series haven’t you finished?
Are there any series you started ages ago that you still haven’t finished? Is there a reason why? Perhaps you’re nervous it isn’t going to be as good as the last one, or you’ve just lost interest…
- What genres would you like to read more often?
Is there any genres you don’t read that often, but when you do you always enjoy them? Maybe you’d like to read more classics or more thrillers…so why not talk about it in a post like the one I did here?
- Give your top recommendations in a certain genre.
If there’s a genre you’re a particular expert in, why not make a post listing some of your best recommendations to try and give other people some ideas for their next read?
- Do you like audiobooks or not?
Audiobooks can be divisive in the book community: some people love them and listen to them all the time, and other people never listen to them. So why not do a post about where you stand?
- What are the most inspiring books you’ve read?
Books can be super inspiring (as I discussed here!), so why not name the most inspiring books you’ve read, whether they’re fiction or non-fiction?
- Series or standalones?
Do you prefer a good standalone book that hooks you in and leaves you satisfied, or do you prefer to be in it for the long haul with a lengthy series?
- Where to get the best bookish bargains.
If you’re pretty thrifty like me, you know a few tips and tricks to getting book bargains, so why not share them in a post? I’m definitely going to be sharing my own tips on this subject in an upcoming post!
- Do you read anything different when on holiday?
It’s that time of year when the phrase ‘holiday read’ starts to get bandied about a lot, and so why not discuss what you think makes a good holiday read, or even if there is such a thing. Do you read anything different when you’re on holiday?
- What are the funniest books you’ve ever read?
I feel like funny books don’t get enough love, so why not spotlight some of the funniest books you’ve read? Plus I want to read more funny books, so I need all your recommendations (and if you’re interested, the funniest book I can remember reading is David Nicholls’ Starter for Ten)!
- What’s your favourite thing about the book blogging community?
The book blogging community is a wonderful place, so why not share your favourite things about it in a post?
So what do you think of my post ideas? Have you already written posts on any of these topics? Why not link to them down in the comments!
