Buy one, get one half price: the bane of my existence. If I find one book, I then feel obligated to get a second – after all, its half price! It would be rude not to. And God forbid I should find a third, because then I would need a fourth!
Thankfully (for my bank balance!) I managed to stop at two today:
I’ve been meaning to read S.J Watson’s Before I Go To Sleep for a long time, but the upcoming film has spurred me to finally buy it (I have to read things before I see the film!).
I also (when looking for that obligatory half price book) came across Wool by Hugh Howey, which I had never heard of, but sounded pretty interesting. However, I did groan slightly at the quote ‘the next Hunger Games’ emblazoned on the front. Does every new dystopian novel have to be the new Hunger Games?
Anyway, look out for reviews in the future. It might be a while though, because I’ve just finished Martin Amis’ Time’s Arrow, and started Robin Hobb’s Assassin’s Apprentice!
